	(a more accurate figure is about $250 less, but we must be conservative)
	(a slight addition would be entailed for an excursion from Lond)

Questions:

1. Air:
   How much is the fare from Ashkhabad to Samarkand (my estimate: 16 Roubles)?

2. Car:
   If you rent a car in various places for a few days each, totalling 11 days,
   do you pay only the 11-day rate or do you have to pay the 1-10-day rate?
   Must you drive the car from the airport, or can you get it at your hotel?

3. Side trips
    From our home base at Tbilisi (Sept 3-7) we may want to make an outing to
    another city (e.g., train to Batumi and back that nite). Is this allowed?
    Can it be a spur of the moment decision, or must it be planned over here?

4. Outside USSR:
   Book  Tallinn→Helsinki steamer. Price?  Customs? 
   Book hotel in advance in Helsinki (Sept 23,24) for ~$10 per person per night
   Book hotel in advance in London (Sept 25,26,28) in the Dolphin square complex
   Also book hotel in Salisbury, Sept. 27.
